In another sign that things are clearly not okay in Trumpworld, Jim Trusty and John Rowley, lawyers who have been representing Trump prior to the federal indictment, have resigned. Trump announced the resignation on Truth Social, and will be represented by Todd Blanche, who is also representing him in the NY indictment over hush money payments made to porn star Stormy Daniels.

“This morning we tendered our resignations as counsel to President Trump, and we will no longer represent him on either the indicted case or the January 6 investigation.”

Jim Trusty and John Rowley, in a joint statement

Other than mentioning that “this is a logical moment” to resign, Trump’s former attorneys didn’t offer much of a reason for the resignation. One can only assume that they saw something in the indictment that prompted them to cut-and-run, because just days earlier, they were on TV making some false and misleading claims before even seeing the indictment. That would meet the definition of a “logical moment” to me.

What did they see in the indictment? Rampant speculation on my part: Trump downplayed to them the types of classified documents he kept. They found out via the indictment that Trump stole nuclear secrets and vulnerabilities in our and our allies defenses. Trump willfully chose to steal these documents, willfully placed us and our allies in harm’s way, and is on tape as knowing full well that he had no authority or right to do so. And then had his attorneys certify that he turned over all of the remaining documents, even though more than 100 more were found in the Mara-a-Lago raid. And his attorneys noped the fuck out of there in the blink of an eye when they saw that the DOJ has the receipts, including several instances of Trump sharing this classified intel. TRE45ON

Remember, Trump hires only the “best people.” 🤡🤡
